ITEMS & PET REQUESTS
KISEKI RPG HAS MOVED. FIND THE REVAMPED GAME AT miraclecountry!
So your character has an item, or pet, etc, that they didn't have with them when they arrived, and they wish to bring from back home. Every journal will have a little card on it, saying that should they wish to bring something from their own world, they should talk to the Usyagi about it.
How will it work out? The Usyagi will assign certain tasks for the character to accomplish before they're given their wanted item.
These tasks can vary from manual labor (cleaning up the hotel or school, feeding specific animals at the zoo, clearing out weeds at the park) to more varied ones. Perhaps your character is rather unsocial? They could be asked to go on a friendly date with two people. Have they never cooked in their lives? They might be asked to learn how to prepare a decent omelette. Are they only started on training as a soldier? They could be required to challenge someone else in the game and follow through with the duel. The tasks will also fit the request; if you wish for a little hairpin you liked, it'll be something smaller. If you wish for a bracelet that was given to you by your dead mentor and which is your most cherished thing in the world, it'll take more work to obtain it.
We can arbitrarily choose tasks for your characters to fulfill, of course, but the idea here is that we plan out something that would be fun to do for them.
The Tiniest FAQ
- Can my characters bring anything into the world?
The short answer is no. The long answer is that game rules still apply, and if your character has a massive canon-firing robot back home that they're super fond of, but would be very disruptive in-game, they would likely not be authorized to get it back. We will consider these case by case, and talk it out with the players in case of any issues with the request. Perhaps if the robot's canon-firing skills were toned down, or its size changed, it wouldn't be so much of a trouble, so the option of nerfing or adjusting abilities would always be available.
- Do I have to play out every task? Provide links of it being played out?
You don't have to play it out (especially in the case of smaller, more menial tasks), but it would need to be ICly fulfilled for the request to be completed. So if your character was asked to bake a cake for three people, you should've at least contacted three characters' players to establish they received this cake in time. If the task was painting a relevant building, we should be able to have characters notice how the hotel/school/one of the character run shops looks now.
Basically, yes, handwaving is okay, but don't handwave to the point where we might as well not even have come up with a task for the character to do.
- What if my character already brought their pet/weapon/cherished childhood brooch/etc with them? I want to play this out, too!
If you brought their pet/weapon/etc with them in their intro prior to this system being put in place, or had them obtain it in-game with our previous Wish Note event, you can retroactively play this out. Fill out the form as you would, and the character will now have to complete the task, or have that item/pet removed from them.
- Does any item require this process?
It's meant to be for special or extravagant ones, as well as living creatures. If your character had a small item (a notebook, a pen, a cooking utensil, think mundane things like that) with them at the time of their arrival, it doesn't need to go through this. If you're unsure of requirements, or if something would qualify as special enough or not, ask us here.
- Does that mean I can go ahead and intro my character as having [pet/weapon/etc] and later do the task fulfilling?
Exactly. Doing the tasks first is not a necessity, and yes, they can be given their item/etc as soon as they ask, and keep them as long as they proceed to fulfill the requirements in time.
- How do I contact you about this? Should I send a private message?
Eventually, most likely. For now, fill out the form below:
